Taylor Kohrs collaborated with Workshop8 and Maiker Housing Partners on the transformation of Casa Redonda de Vigil, a senior affordable housing complex comprising three buildings and a circular clubhouse totaling 42 units.
Throughout this renovation project, the team implemented a phased approach to minimize disruption to residents. The scope consisted of wide array of improvements, spanning site and civil development, landscaping, utility repairs, and updates to the exterior facades. Inside the units, a comprehensive overhaul took place, encompassing the installation of new fixtures, appliances,
flooring, electrical systems, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning systems.
In response to accessibility needs, the layout of the complex was reconfigured to accommodate new ADA units, with the addition of ramps for enhanced mobility. The project also entailed asbestos abatement within the clubhouse and the installation of a new wheelchair lift to facilitate improved access. To ensure safety and well-being, a Radon Mitigation system was installed, new
exterior decks were constructed, and exterior site lighting was improved.
