Taylor Kohrs teamed with Design Concepts to create a new 2.3 acre community pocket park for the City of Thornton. The ADA-compliant park features a fully enclosed soccer pitch with rebound boards and goals, walking path with mileage markers, crusher fine trails, pavilions with picnic tables and outdoor gathering areas. A few unique features the park offers includes a zipline, pyramid rope climbing tower, a sand blasted depiction of a solar system in the concrete, anti-ram safety fencing along 88th Avenue to withstand vehicular impact, and amphitheater style seating comprised of boulders. In order to ensure proper coverage and amount of water being delivered met design requirements, the irrigation system was completely renovated and a detention pond was added.
