Ground Breaking Ceremony for Lakota Ridge Senior Housing
Taylor Kohrs, Community Resources and Housing Development Corporation (CRHDC) and jv DeSousa broke ground on the new Lakota Ridge Senior Housing project located in New Castle, CO. The project was awarded 9% Competitive Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) through the 2016 CHFA allocation. The new enterprise green, ADA Accessible housing project will be comprised of six (6) buildings with 40 one bedroom and 10 two bedroom units, a community center with kitchen and fireplace along with a community plaza area. The team put a lot of thought into the Senior Living Design, down to the door handles and shower enclosures, to ensure ease of access within the units and throughout the site. The 2.8 acre site has a significant uphill grade and is receiving extensive natural landscaping along with community gardens. The community is excited and very involved with the project and the team looks forward to creating new homes for the New Castle community to enjoy.

Aria Cohousing Groundbreaking
Aria Cohousing Groundbreaking
More than just a groundbreaking ceremony, a gathering to celebrate community living. Urban Ventures, Colorado Urban Builders, Taylor Kohrs, community members and families came out to celebrate the groundbreaking for Aria Cohousing. Then stayed to enjoy the acoustics sounds of the Bluegrass band, 300 Days and family activities.
The former Marycrest convent building will be converted into 28 for-sale condo units of cohousing in the center of Aria Denver campus at 52nd and Federal. Aria Denver is creating a neighborhood where community is the focus. A neighborhood designed to reduce resident’s carbon footprint, neighbors work together and share resources, open spaces and community gardens. A truly unique concept paving the way for 21st century living.

On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!!!
After a long day of hard work, it was time to trade the hard hats in for helmets at Unser Racing. A few of us had some spin outs, some collisions and some hurt ribs, but Jake proved to be the Jedi of the go karts. A fun time for all!
Grand Opening, Grand Feelings
Grand Opening, Grand Feelings
There was no question whether or not the Northeast Park Hill community loves what has become of Dahlia Square during the grand opening of Mental Health Center of Denver Dahlia Campus for Health and Well-Being. The halls were filled with smiling faces and good conversation as tours were being held and food was being served. Children from Roots Elementary and MHCD’s Skyline Academy put on wonderful performances giving reassurance that this is what the campus was built for. For the community to come together in a healthy, welcoming space.
Three years of community input shaped the new 4 acre campus that includes a 45,000 sq ft facility offering early childhood education, deaf & hard of hearing services, a pediatric dental clinic, mental health services, a gymnasium, community spaces and offices. The outdoor space features a 40,000 sq ft urban garden and aquaponics greenhouse, allowing access to fresh healthy produce and protein for community members, counseling gardens and play areas for children. A truly beautiful space created by the efforts of MHCD, the Northeast Park Hill community, City Projects, Taylor Kohrs, Anderson Mason Dale Architects and Group 14 Engineering.
Taylor Kohrs is thrilled to be part of such a revolutionary resource.
